First month in Switzerland with SAJV
Jiniva Serrano, Panama
Hallo!! It has already been a month since my journey to the "Old World" started. I arrived to Switzerland last April and these weeks have definitely been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Being part of the SAJV staff as trainee allowed me to learn about many different youth organizations, widen my network, get to know more about this beautiful country and its culture, and what not, learn some German on the go during my stay in Bern :)...

During this first stage of my traineeship I have had the opportunity to attend worskshops and conferences for the Council of Europe, a weekend summit organized for the staff of SCI (Service Civil International), environmental sustainability presentations, and interesting meetings with members of different Swiss youth orgs. Moreover, I could also introduce my organization, the National Youth Council of Panama, and share with other people what do the Panamanian youth do (at a national and international level) in order to empower themselves and demonstrate we the young are able to engage in positive activities for the benefit of our country, other youngsters, and of course ours.
Now it is time to move on and leave Bern to start an internship in Geneva. I will be interning at Tapori for one month, and will hopefully get to use the tools acquired during my traineeship at SAJV.
Tschüss!
